Is this app affiliated with Paramount or the game's publisher?

No. Captain's Chair Companion is an unofficial fan-made companion app. It is not endorsed by Paramount, CBS, the game's publisher, or its designers (Nigel Buckle and Dávid Turczi).

Do I need the physical board game to use this app?

Yes — the app is designed to be used alongside the physical Star Trek: Captain's Chair board game. It does not simulate play on its own.

The BoardGameGeek sync isn't working.

Check that your BGG username and password are correct under Settings → Gameplay → BGG Integration. Use the "Test & Save" button to verify credentials. If the last sync failed, the app shows the raw response from BGG for debugging. BGG itself occasionally rate-limits logins; waiting a few minutes and retrying usually resolves it.

Which game boxes are supported?

The app currently supports the core Captain's Chair box and Promo Pack 1. Additional boxes and expansions will be added as they're released.

My data is gone — can I recover it?

All game records, campaigns, and notes are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app, signing out of iCloud, or wiping the device will remove this data. If you've removed the app and want to preserve data in the future, a full device backup via iCloud or iTunes will include it.
